Fish income and money planning

Build a collection you can maintain, then calculate purchases from your own values.

Where money comes from

The official gameplay loop includes earning money from your fish. Hatching useful fish and spending on pool or base progression connect earnings to future collection attempts.

Exact income rates and the way bonuses combine are not verified in this wiki. Use your actual balance and displayed or measured earning rate.

Estimate time to a purchase

Subtract your current balance from the purchase price. Divide the remaining amount by the money you actually gain per second to estimate the wait. This budget assumes that the rate stays constant and that you do not spend during the wait.

If you only have per-fish displays, check whether their sum matches what your balance gains. A displayed rate can differ from collected money when other rules apply.

Keep a farming run comparable

  • Use a route you can finish.
  • Check the actual hatch before calling it an income upgrade.
  • Keep failed attempts in your notes.
  • Compare earnings over the same observation window.
  • Review your collection after player interaction.

Avoid an expensive detour

A rare target is not automatically the best money route. Consider how often you finish the attempt and how much training or purchasing it requires. A manageable route may be a better baseline while you prepare for a harder one.

Use the income planner with your own values. It estimates arithmetic, not a hidden game formula or a guaranteed result.

Measure an earning rate

TargetObservationCalculation or adjustment
Starting balanceNote the balance before a known observation interval.Keep purchases out of the interval so spending does not hide earned money.
Ending balanceNote the balance after the same collection has earned for that interval.Subtract the starting balance to find the observed gain.
Elapsed timeMeasure the interval in seconds.Divide the observed gain by seconds to obtain the measured rate.
Collection changeA fish, visible boost, or earning condition changed during the interval.Take a new measurement; the earlier estimate may no longer represent the collection.

Read the result before committing to a purchase

A hypothetical increase from 250 to 850 over 30 seconds gives a gain of 600, or 20 per second. For a purchase costing 1,250 and a current balance of 250, the amount still needed is 1,000 and the constant-rate wait is 50 seconds. Use the current balance when you enter the planner; the starting balance from an old test may already be outdated.

If earnings arrive in visible batches, choose an observation window covering several batches instead of timing only a quiet moment. The planner is a budget approximation, not a forecast of a random hatch or a promise of offline income. Recalculate when your collection changes or another purchase reduces the balance.

QUICK ANSWERS

Questions about this step

Should I add every displayed fish income value?

You can compare that sum with actual balance growth, but do not assume they match under all conditions. Use the measured gain for a practical purchase estimate when the displays are unclear.

Why does the planner show no finite estimate?

With money still needed and a zero entered earning rate, the simple calculation cannot supply a waiting time. An affordable purchase still has zero wait even at zero income.
